Now that you know the benefits of having a Google Places Listing, You know how to Claim yours or Create a New one, we are going to finish off our Google Places series with 3 ways on optimizing your listing.
1. Just because you have claimed your listing doesn’t mean you are going to be at the top of the pile when it comes to searches. Google wants the best user experience, so how do you provide that on your Places page? Firstly completing ALL the fields don’t get lazy here, if you can’t type spend the time doing it anyways an incomplete page will decrease the user experience in turn decreasing your rankings.
2. Google gives you a spot to add your logo, add pictures of your company and the richest content of all Video. Adding video is as easy as adding the link to it on Youtube.
3. Get Reviews! Going back to that user experience, Google loves user generated content; so the more reviews you have on your page the better your rankings. Not only that, studies show that 14% of people trust advertising where 90% of people trust Peer Recommendations. Send an email blast to your Places page asking for Happy Customers to review your company. You may think people won’t take the time, but you would be surprised at how many people will.
That concludes our Week of Google Places Posts, hope you enjoyed it
